We are looking for a

Chief Structural Engineer

to join to our team in one of our locations in Pietarsaari, Vaasa, Helsinki, Seinäjoki or Oulu. 

As the Chief Structural Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to develop structural design solutions during the tender phase of projects, occasionally requiring travel. You will take the lead in creating technically and economically optimal concepts that meet customer specifications and project requirements. In addition to the tender phase work, you will also be the responsible structural engineer during project execution, working in close cooperation with other Nordec design engineers and external design consultancies to ensure the best possible solutions for each construction project.

Key responsibilities

• Guiding a team of structural engineers in customer projects
• Strength calculation of frame structures and details in offer stage 
• Overall stability calculation of structures
• Operating as a responsible structural engineer in steel frame projects
• Developing design skills, calculation tools and methods in frame design team
• Working closely with the overall Nordec project lead to ensure success of the project

Key success factors in this role are

• Extensive experience of 10+ years in structural design of challenging steel and concrete frame structures and steel structure analysis
• Experience in having the role of responsible structural engineer in demanding projects
• Ability to use modern 3D-Fem analysis software and Tekla Structures modelling/design skills
• Strong collaboration, communication and influencing skills
• A high-level business ethics, can-do-mindset and ability to make autonomous decisions
• M.Sc. or B.Sc. level degree in engineering or equivalent
• Fluency in English and Swedish is mandatory
